Women's Intro to Backpacking

$600.00

July 23rd - 27th, 2026

Pagosa Springs, CO

This retreat is ideal for women who want to challenge themselves and truly get away from the noises of everyday life. This will be a fully remote trip with no phone signal (yay!) Some general hiking experience is required, but we will have a full day together pre-departure to learn, pack and prepare. On our journey we will go slow and take breaks– more like a marathon, not a sprint.

Event Overview

Thursday, July 23rd: We will meet at a cabin in Pagosa, about 30 minutes from where we will be backpacking. We will share dinner and get to know one another.

Friday, July 24th: We will have a slow morning, and spend the day going over some backpacking basics, making sure our bags are packed adequately, and heading out to the trailhead to camp together.

Saturday, July 25th: We will wake up early in morning and head out to the trailhead. We will be embarking on a moderately challenging/difficult backpacking trip, 12 miles total on an out-and-back trail. Our goal will be to camp on top of a beautiful saddle, overlooking Treasure valley.

Sunday, July 26th: We will hike down Sunday and revel in our accomplishments, rewarding ourselves with a yummy dinner, a soak in the hot springs and a rest in the cabin before we depart in the morning.

Monday, July 27th: Say farewells, enjoy a nourishing, celebratory breakfast, and head home
